SHELBY is a two year old brindle female with lovely cropped ears.  She is very obese from being overfed and will have to lose about 30 pounds.  She was bought as a puppy and has been kept outside since she was brought home two years ago.  She had never been allowed inside the home long enough to be taught house training.  She came in to rescue with her male companion Dane, Dodge, because the owners wanted the dogs gone in a hurry.  The Danes have lived outside with a third dog, a Lab, and have had to wear shock collars because of the invisible fencing around the property.

They all were recently involved in a dog fight which made the owners concerned about the safety of the other pets and the neighborhood children who come onto the unfenced property at any time.  Shelby has grown up with older kids and has been friendly to guests invited to the house as well as the grounds keepers that come in every week.  She is alert and affectionate and has been through some basic obedience training.  She is being tested and examined at our vet hospital for any possible medical problems.  And then she will be further evaluated in a foster home where she will be put on an immediate diet, taken for walks, and will begin learning house manners
