Dedicated to help Great Danes have a life of quality with dignity and love.

This is KIRIN.

Kirin is a very happy girl in her foster home with 5 other Danes and a foster mom and dad that adore her.  She is not kenneled at this time and is not chewing or tearing up anything.  She is in her prime and has a lot of energy, much like a puppy.  She is communicative and affectionate and very responsive.  She is a stately girl that sits tall and straight, like a queen.  She is great with other dogs and cats and enjoys going for rides, walks, visits, and anything suggested or required!  She is a great companion dog and a loyal friend that will be by your side whenever you need her, showing how much she can love you.

She is 3 years old, has natural ears, and a cute 6 inch 'SPORT 'tail (it was cut off sometime in her previous life). She is tall, sweet and cuddly, gets along with big and small dogs. She loves people but is not rowdy. She knows 'sit', 'down', and comes when called and has good house manners. She loves to go for walks and rides. She was given up because there was a toddler in the home and no time left to devote to Kirin.

Foster Family Feedback

Kirin is an exceptionally sweet girl. She is responsive and interested in her surroundings. She is intelligent and learns quickly, though will still try in an impish sort of way to see if she can continue to get away with some things. Usually one more correction is all that is needed. She is excellent with the resident cat as well as with the 6 other Great Danes in her foster home. She enjoys walks and riding in the car very much! She wants to be with you all of the time, and enjoys a snuggle on the couch with you most of all. Kirin enjoys stuffed toys and most especially tossing and chewing on a Kong toy!
Because of her past 7 months being locked in a laundry closet for 12 hours a day, this foster has elected not to crate her when she is away form home, which is only for an hour or two daily.  Kirin has followed suit with the other danes in the house and has not chewed or destroyed anything in the home. She seems content to sleep and wait for my return, though she does show some anxiety when she sees me putting on shoes to go somewhere! She is very protective of the foster home, barking at all strangers but is willing to allow them inside if foster mom says its okay! Out in public, she is happy to greet anyone and meets all with a wag of her sport tail!
Kirin is somewhat needy, having been deprived of attention for many months it seems. She is very capable of flipping a phone out of your hands and standing directly in front of you for attention! Kirin will make a wonderful companion dog, though I recommend she go to an at home or part time working  adopter only with no children under age 12.
