Baylor was discovered by a Good Samaritan in skeletal condition, chained behind a shed, and starving! The Animal Control took possession of him because of the official complaint and tried to prosecute the owners for cruelty, neglect and abuse. However, they did not accomplish the prosecution because a little 'pot' was seen near his chain where he sat in filth, signifying someone 'might' be feeding him. And a broken down shed was nearby for him to try to crawl into, qualifying as a semblance of 'shelter', under the law. Since the cruelty charge would not stick, the Animal Control was going to give him back to the owners! Thankfully, Angels at a nearby pet shelter intervened, took him away, and called our rescue. So far, Baylor is gaining weight, his spirit is healing, and his happy personality has immerged. He is about 1 and 1/2 years old, black and has natural ears. Currently, in his foster home, he is being loved, FED, given the necessary medical care, and being further evaluated. Update from foster home: Baylor is now playful and is getting along with all sizes of dogs just like he was always one of the group. He likes kids but is a little too rough because he needs to be taught manners. Just like a Dane, he will back up into your lap for sits and scratches and everyone that meets him thinks he's a great dog! More to come soon....

And now, the newest member of the Dallas Amateur Soccer team...

Foster Family Feedback

5-23-02 update. Baylor is a very active Great Dane. He is a wonderful dog. He needs a family who will keep him busy until his puppyhood wears off. He gets along great with everybody and any other animals. He is willing, responsive and happy, and has a lot of love to give. He loves toys and has visions of being a soccer star!"
