THIS IS BEAU, a handsome and very people-loving
boy. He is about 4 years of age, and is a dark
merle color..
He was put into an animal control because
folks had too many dogs and one had to go it seems. He had
lived with one family with older kids since he was a puppy.
Sadly, he was kept mostly outside with the other dogs, but
he has instantly learned good house manners in his foster
home, and will tell his foster folks he has to go out. He
is very smart and learns quickly. He walks very nicely on
leash, is crate trained, and his foster home has found him
to be very affectionate. He wants to be a lap dog and loves
snuggling. He was a lucky dog to have won the hearts of the
animal control facility employees, who kept him from being
euthanized until rescue could get to him. He is a boy who
can be ready to go in a minute but who also can relax and
snuggle on the couch in front of the fireplace too.
Notes from Beau's foster mom and dad:
Beau's foster home loves him and can't
say enough good things about him. He is a huge pleasure
to have in their home. He was house trained on day two
and has been ever since. He learns very fast and is
nicely responsive when called or asked to do something.
They have found him to LOVE meeting people wherever he
goes. And he really loves kids. He loves his walks and
is easy to leash walk for them. He's got a cool
personality and is a very happy waggy dog. He is good
in his crate and waits patiently to be let out.
When visitors have come to the house he
has charmed ALL of them. They leave wanting to take him
home after a dose of his goofiness and sweetness. They
say he has never met anybody he didn't like right away.
He has met older kids and never jumps on them plus he
has been very patient and gentle with the younger kids
that have visited. He has been living as an only dog
with them but at the vet's office was sweet with the
resident Pug.
Beau's foster mom and dad both love him
very much and have said they would adopt him in a
heartbeat but he appears a little TOO interested in
their two cats. They are worried that he might hurt
them. It is the only thing that holds them back as they
have totally loved getting to know him through fostering
him. "He is the BEST dog", is their description. They
feel he would make a family with no felines the most
wonderful, silly, and fun companion. And also predict
that anyone that has the chance to meet him, will also
be charmed and will want to take him home right away.
Someone that wants a family dog who loves to go when you
go but can also be a couch potato when needed, will
appreciate the calmness, flexibility and fun in the much
desired qualities of the 'mature' dog. :-)
