Foster update on Roo 7-14-06
Our Roo puppy is becoming braver and
more trusting each day. He is now playing gently with the resident
dog and is much more comfortable and outgoing. He still has issues
but he is constantly working on them and progressing. He is great
in his crate all night and he actually runs to it any time he feels
any insecurity. He has never shown any food aggression or any dog
aggression at all. He is responding so well to kindness and love
and has very much charmed his foster folks. They are smitten with
him. He has come a long way. :-)
Indie and Roo. They are sister and
brother puppies that were born around Christmas. They are about
6 months of age and have not seen the best side of living yet.
They very obviously have not been cared for properly and are
marked up all over their bodies by scabs and scars from dog
bites and whatever else happened to these innocent puppies.
They have not been socialized and are very scared little kids.
They are each responding to kindness now and are making good
progress step by step because they really do want to trust us.
They don't appear to have any broken bones, just scabs, scars
and skinny-ness. Their feet are flat from lack of good
nutrition but that will correct with good food, love and a good
home life, which they have begun now. They have met other dogs
without fear and are meeting people the same way. More will be
reported as they continue to improve and step out of the world
they came from, into a wonderful world waiting just for them.
