GEORGE

This is George.

George was accepted into rescue in January.  He was a 6 month old puppy who was being kept totally outside with an igloo for shelter from the rain, heat and cold of Texas all the time.  His puppy ways were thought to be too rough for the children, 2 and 6 years of age, so he was not allowed in the house anymore.  With another child on the way, they wanted him to go, so they asked for help to rehome him.  He was a blank slate, bewildered at first.  He didn’t know words or manners, and of course was afraid to come into the house.  But the foster home reported that he was a puppy who was learning willingly and quickly and had a nice laid back attitude.  And he loves being INSIDE now.  He loves people, gets along with the other 3 dogs in the house (even sleeps with them in a pile, LOL), loves the cat, and all the people he is meeting, so he’s a long way ahead of a lot of other dogs taken into rescue over the years.

Current update on George…..He is 9 months old and he’s house trained nicely, though he does tend to chew on things unless supervised.  A crate will help with a lot of things for him.  He is still getting along great with the other 3 dogs and cat.  He has learned a lot from his foster home, including that he is loved and is a good boy as ALL dogs want to know!  He needs to continue his training and building his vocabulary and communication skills and all kinds of things about his new world.  He is a waggy, happy, kissy dog now, who loves to nuzzle and snuggle.  A very sweet big hunk of furry love waiting and ready for his forever home to call for him.  We think he’s going to be the best dog ever.  J
